Flying Geese Finish!!

I finished my first quilt of the year!! Actually this is the first quilt I have made in two years ...and before that who knows how long.

I enjoyed sewing this quilt so much. I bought the fabric around 7 years ago and it just sat ...waiting for me.

The quilting on it is pretty basic ...I still don't have a darning foot for my machine so it's straight quilting with the walking foot.

I have two simple projects to do and then I'll take something else of my UFO pile. Who knows, maybe someday I won't have any UFO's ...nah, I doubt it.

One of the things missing from my new sewing room was a place to store my fabrics. I wanted a small dresser and last Tuesday I found it. I spent a little while this morning filling it up. Now they are nice and neat and hopefully I can work at emptying it out ...so I can make room for new fabrics!!

Here's the bottom drawer filled with some fabric.

I set them on their side so I can see what I have without having to rifle through everything.

The room is really coming along ...although I think I'm going to have to rearrange it a bit for a better work flow.

Oh, what a pretty quilt! And I love the idea of using a dresser to store fabric...gosh, it's embarrassing to say, but I'd need a huge armoire to store my linen fabric!

Oh Pam, your quilt is beautiful!! I love how the colors go so well together.... will this go on your bed?
I have a dresser in my sewing room too. I keep larger pieces in the bottom drawer (for backing) and my cuts in the others.

Thanks for posting the pic! (and your geese look great)

I LOVE two color quilts and your flying geese quilt is gorgeous!

I bought a dresser just like yours for my oldest daughter almost 22 years ago. I found mine at a garage sale and my dad redid it for me. I still have it and it's a treasure.
